BECKY SANGOLO UNLEASHES A NEW SINGLE - BITE. (Christened by many as The Ladies Anthem)

Becky Sangolo
The year 2025 has just begun and artists are working hard to make this their year of success in the music industry. Among the artists who have began the 2025 musical journey is none other than Becky Sangolo formerly of a girl group The Band BeCa that also had Carol Kamweru now going by the name Miss Kamweru. The two are currently doing solo careers that are looking upwards based on the new releases they just did.

Becky in an interview in a top TV station in Warsaw.

Becky Sangolo who moved to Poland more than three years ago has done a lot that may not be known to many Kenyans locally.

While in Poland, she has done several singles, performed in major events in and above all participated in The Voice of Poland up to the finals where she came out third. This venture made Becky a household name after showcasing tantalizing shows that were amazing. It has earned her well attended shows that include unique orchestra performances in different cities in Poland. Recently, she released her single that she recorded in London with a renowned Multi-platinum producer Yoad Nevo who has Grammy hits under his belt. The song is picking so fast and the reception is just wonderful given that Becky just chose to try her hand in a different genre other than the ones she has always been doing. Listening to her voice, her vocal range is just on another level and the message in the song is perfect for ladies who believe in themselves. In her message she advices ladies not to do stuff due to pier pressure but pride in who they are. Most ladies are calling it the Ladies Anthem.

Becky is planning to start her media tour and shows in various parts of the world to widen her reach. She advices her fans to subscribe to her channel and get to view more of her videos that are quite entertaining. She also plans to release her well endowed album that she has been working on with Polycarp of Sauti Soul group that she believes fans will really love.

Upcoming artists have it rough getting upstage in the Kenyan Music industry

Producer Mishka of Twins Studio
You and me agree that there is a lot of untapped talent in Kenya. However, there is a big obstacle for these talents to emerge and be actively involved in enriching our entertainment industry due to various reasons. Take for instance upcoming or aspiring musicians. There are artists who have made all efforts to compose and record very nice and quality music. They have even gone further to make quality videos in the believe that by receiving airplay and screen play the world would appreciate their talents and make them big stars.

It is so unfortunate that all the efforts by our determined artists never come to see the light of the day due to the uncaring, corrupt and sometimes arrogant media presenters and scripts that do only pay attention to those who have money. Some production houses have
formed cartels that pay some media personalities who have popular programs just to ensure that artists from upcoming productions don't get airplay. As a result fans are compelled to listen to the presenter's boring choice of music. There are many cases where artists drop their music video/audio in media houses and are promised airplay yet they never hear of it until they give a token. Some artists have been saying that they are willing to pay and receive airplay than to be dismissed and live in oblivion. Isn't this suppressing talent?

In other countries like Uganda I understand it is the DJ or radio/TV presenter who goes out searching for fresh new hits. This creates competition and keeps both young and old artists on toes trying to out-do one another hence high creativity. Am not saying that we should overlook quality and niceness of the music but lets allow music from new artists to get airplay so that the fans can choose through count downs by call-ins.

That way we can proudly say we have promoted talent and done justice to the music scene. Can a real caring Media house stand up and be counted as the champion for fresh talent in the market?

Do you think the Kenyan Media should better to promote our artists?
